I ordered a Portabella Mushroom Kit and instead they sent me a less expensive Button Mushroom Kit. Since I notified them of the problem, they have completely ignored me. I've dealt with Park Seeds and some of their sister companies for quite awhile, but never again. The review I left on their website has gone unpublished.
This is the review that I placed last week.
(Used these 2 years ago canned 2years of sauce from 10 plants. This year 10 seeds started in a bio dome from parks with heating pad resulted in 5 plants. I guess as with all companies now days its profit before quality. I'll have to see what my other seeds do and see if I need to look for another source for seeds.) my review was never posted, I guess they only post the good ones.

I placed a small seed order and a blueberry bush. Was to receive the blueberry bush in March, and still haven't received it. Wrote two emails to them, and I haven't heard back. Will never purchase again.
My order was only partially shipped. It's now a month later. When I emailed (because you cannot call and talk to someone) they sent a form letter back with my tracking number of the partial order I received. Cannot get a refund. I bought several packs of seeds most did not grow.
Their seeds were well packaged in an inner wax envelope sealed in outer foil, but clearly mislabeled. I ordered Rhodochiton seeds which have a very distinct unique shape. What was sent was a dust like small seed which might be "Purple bell flower" NOT "Purple bell vine". Sent email and got: Care representative will get back to me. Yada yada.

I have been a loyal customer for years. Wanted to place an order today but they now have absolutely ridiculous shipping charges. For 5-6 small packets of seeds it's $10. It used to be free or $1-2. It costs pennies for the company to ship, but they now charge ridiculous shipping charges to make even more money. They blamed it on the pandemic. What a terrible, unfair business practice. I haven't seen anything about carries (UPS, USPS, FEDEX) increasing their fees 5-10 times. I will buy all my seeds for $10-15 at a local store instead of paying 10 bucks for shipping (plus the price for not so cheap seeds themselves). Shame on you, ParkSeed.
I have been a Park Seed customer for well over a decade and have experienced mostly favorable results. They offer a wide variety--that is what keeps me coming back--that and habit, I guess. I like buying smaller amounts of a wide variety of seeds because storing them long-term does compromise germination rates, but the tradeoff is higher price per seed. In one order a couple of years ago, I discovered that the bell peppers seeds I paid for did not arrive, and contacting the company got me nowhere. Other than that I have always received what I ordered, so I just wrote off the loss and ordered seeds again from them the next year.
My Mom and I have sent for seeds from this company for the past 25 years. Most of the time, the seeds had a good to excellent germination rate and produced good crops.
In the Spring I purchased and received two sorts of parsley seeds. I soaked them 24 hours and planted half directly into a long window box with the intent to thin. Only one came up at the very edge of the box and sadly died after I moved it four inches. My second try of soaked seeds had zero sprouts. The Spinach round leaf same thing, zero germination. That was a $10.88 learning experience. Going to try another source.
I tried them one year with fruit and vegetable nothing happen so I tried one more time and still nothing

I spent almost $100.00 on flower seeds (possibly more). Out of over a hundred seeds only three flowers actually grew/bloomed. In Park Seeds defense they did ask me if I would like a refund. With these types of results why ask? Just refund the money. I will never order anything from Park Seed again and will continue to tell my gardening friends to stay away from this business.
